Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

PERMAI-BC would like to wish Merry Christmas to Christians everywhere, especially in British Columbia. Christians all over the world celebrate this single life that changed the world and continues to change hearts today. The simple and inspiring story of the birth of Jesus Christ shows a solid gratitude for the many blessings in people's lives and promises a message of peace and brotherhood.

We thank God for giving us the opportunity to end this year with many accomplishments and we look forward to embracing year 2010 with some great new plans and a strong desire to implement them successfully.

At this special time of year, we give thanks for Christmas's message of love, sacrifice and mercy, and we are constantly reminded of our responsibility to promote the beauty of Indonesian culture, preserve cultural diversity, maintain the value of hospitality and give back to communities. We thank all of you for your continued support and we wish you all the best in 2010.

Sincerely,

PERMAI-BC

Thank You for Supporting Our 'Care for Padang' Fundraising Event

sd
On behalf of Indonesian-Canadian communities throughout British Columbia, we would like to thank all of you for participating in our ‘Care for Padang’ fundraising event and making it a successful one. We really appreciate the resources provided by our event supporters, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Asian Pacific Post, OMNI TV, Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia and William Maranda Productions. In addition, we are so grateful for the contribution from each and every one of you as a donor, committee, volunteer, performer, food vendor, advertising buyer, auction bidder, raffle ticket buyer and/or attendee.

Your involvement makes it possible for us to care for our friends and families in Padang (West Sumatra), Indonesia, so that they have a better life and a high hope for their future after experiencing significant physical and psychological damages caused by the deadly earthquake. Having said that, with your help, we were able to raise net proceeds of CAD$4069.29.

The net proceeds will be donated via Canadian Red Cross, Kompas Humanitarian Fund – a disaster management fund organized by Indonesia’s major newspaper, and in-person, by Indonesian-Canadian community representatives, to the impacted locations, as part of joint-donation program organized by Indonesian-Canadian communities throughout Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

Moreover, we want to congratulate the raffle ticket winners and encourage them to claim the prizes as soon as possible. The following lucky winners are*:

$1,000 winner – Karen M.; ticket number: 0202
$500 winner – Nora G.; ticket number: 0488
$250 winner – Jenny ; ticket number:0346

We hope for your continued support in the future and as a growing organization who wants to keep improving on promoting as well as participating in cultural events, your feedback is highly appreciated. Please send your feedback via email at permai_bc@yahoo.ca. Once again, thank you for your generous donation and/or contribution.
